In today’s fast-paced work environment, traditional communication methods often fail to engage employees. Spokn changes that by offering Comms and HR teams a seamless way to create dynamic, branded video stories that enhance connection and alignment within organizations.
Spokn lets admins create branded story prompts, invite employees to contribute video clips, and automatically compiles them into a polished, customizable story. Admins can adjust design elements before sharing a seamless, professional viewing experience where clips play in sequence with contributor names and photos.
We adopted a fast-paced product development strategy, shipping features rapidly to the market. Rather than relying solely on traditional UX research methods, the sales team played a crucial role in gathering insights directly from users and customers. By leveraging their close interactions with clients, they provided real-time feedback, enabling the team to iterate quickly and ensure that new features aligned with actual user needs.
As a Product Designer behind Spokn, I led the design, focusing on the product and usability. My goal was to ensure that the platform felt as intuitive and enjoyable as consumer apps like TikTok or Instagram while maintaining the professionalism required for workplace communication. I've participated in designing flexible recording options allowing users to record in landscape mode and choose between video-only, screen sharing with a browser tab, or a full application window. Post-recording, employees can trim and edit their clips, and insert slides between videos for added context or visual support. These features help ensure a smooth and professional storytelling process.
To enhance presentation and accessibility, I improved the story preview layout for better pre-publish quality. I also introduced editable video captions and a robust customization panel for admins, offering control over fonts, logos, backgrounds, text overlays, and video positioning—empowering teams to create branded, polished stories with ease.
